An important aid to a pleasant pregnancy experience is pregnancy massage. As your pregnancy progresses and your stomach enlarges you experience physical aches and pains in different parts of your body. Relief to this pain can be provided only by massage therapists who specialize in prenatal massages. Massage relieves pain because it enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves blood circulation and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

The benefits of pregnancy massage are numerous. Under the stress of pregnancy your body produces stress hormones. These stress hormones are felt not only by you, but also your baby. By reducing your stress, through massage, you can increase the comfort level of your unborn baby. Moreover, the massage can ease your muscular aches and pains that may be very uncomfortable to say the least. But before deciding on massage therapy you should first consult your doctor to make sure that you are suitable for massage. You should be careful while going for pregnancy massage and only utilize the services of trained prenatal massage therapists. For prenatal massage, the massage therapist uses massage techniques which concentrate on a woman’s, neck, back and pelvic regions- the areas most often negatively affected by a pregnancy.

Another care to be taken while giving the massage is your position. Since you cannot lie on your stomach, you will most often be laid on your side with pillows for support. While there are special tables designed to allow room for a pregnant belly, most therapists prefer to have you rest on your side. Pregnant mothers are very sensitive and masseurs will need to be careful when giving massages as to not harm the baby in any way. To ensure this result intensity of the massage is also very important.

Since pregnancy massage is special, finding a therapist who specializes in prenatal massage might be slightly difficult. All therapists may not be able to accede to your request for massage. Some might not have the experience and some might not have time to accept you as a patient at all.

Experts in pregnancy massage recommend that pregnant women have a massage at least once a month. This is to keep them revitalized and ready for the actual birth. No matter how far you are from actual delivery of your baby, regular pregnancy massage is the best medicine to keep you and your baby healthy and happy.

A therapeutic massage can be so wonderful. This is the type of massage that most of us are looking for when we are looking to get a massage. Many of us do not have a need for a sports massage or a deep tissue massage. We are just looking to alleviate a lot of the stress that is our lives and what better way to do this than through a massage. You can use this massage to help you to retain your focus or to help you to escape from the daily grind. It can be a way of eliminating many of the problems and aches that you may be facing on a daily basis, just through a simple massage. This little tool can be the difference between success and failure through the alleviation of tension that is may provide for you and anyone that you may be associated with.

The most common type of therapeutic massage is that of the Swedish massage. It is a simple massage that has been around for almost 300 years. It involves primarily the use of the fingertips and palms in the relief of stress from the body. By using the fingertips and palms to knead and rub the various muscle groups of the body it will help to force the impurities out of the muscle groups and into the bloodstream to be removed from the body. In most cases you want to massage the muscle in the direction of the blood flow so as to create the motion and movement to push the impurities along and eliminate the bad things that have come into your muscle groups. Not all massages are meant to be therapeutic however. There are massages that are created solely for the purpose of improving posture as well as those massages that have been designed for the purpose of relieving joint pain. Make sure you look into what type of massage it is that you wan to receive. You do not want to go in for a therapeutic massage and come out with a deep tissue massage as this will have relieved some stress, but will not have accomplished your true objective.

Remember that not all massage places are the same, some offer much more than just massages and some offer sub par performances. When looking to get a therapeutic massage look into the establishment and make sure that that is one of their specialties. A lot of the time you also need to make sure that they are actual licensed massage therapists performing these tasks as anyone can pretend to be something that they are not. It is completely acceptable to ask and inquire about business practices for your needs and to insure that they are able to meet your needs. So make sure to shop around before you just settle on a massage parlor. Make sure that they can meet or exceed your expectations and that they offer the therapeutic massage that you sop desperately need. It is your money you choose how you spend it.

There are many options out there if you are looking to take a massage therapy class. There all also many options available if you are looking to become a certified massage therapist. If you are looking for just a class that you can take to introduce to the art of massage therapy or you are looking or you are looking for a few pointers in an effort to improve your massage technique, then you need to look into taking a class. These classes are offered at all types of different venues with varying degrees of expertise and skill to be involved by both the teachers and the participants. You could be simply looking for a short seminar that will help to enhance your skills and techniques. Or, you could be looking to take the classes through a community college that will certify you in massage therapy. Consider your wants and your needs here.

The massage therapy class that you are looking for may be offered in multiple venues and arenas depending on your specific field of interest. No all classes will be taught on the same level however. There are specific schools that will be able to get you a certification in massage therapy in about six months. There are other colleges and universities that will incorporate the class as part of a curriculum for a larger degree program. Look into healing schools as well as different programs that are offered through vocational schools as well. However you need to research into what exactly is incorporated with these classes that you will be taking so you know what you are getting into and whether or not this is the class that you were looking for. It is very disheartening when you start a class and realize later that it was not at all what you were looking for in regards to a class. Look into who is teaching that class as well and look into their background to make sure that they are recognized and knowledgeable. Insure that the class is what you are paying for and not simply a scam to get money for doing nothing.

Always look for the class that you are truly after and do not settle. With so many different options that are out there for you to look into in regards to finding a class for your specific needs do not settle. The specialization that you are after is available if you look for it. Just take your time and show the patience that is needed to get what you want out of the class that you take. It can be a huge letdown if you take a class that is supposed to teach how to get rid of stress and you end up having to be stressed out yourself because of it. Know what it is you want, look for it and got get it. The class is there to teach massage therapy that you want just look for it and find it.

Do not pound your partner direction. Place one hand on your partner (for example your left hand). Place this left hand wherever your partners muscles feel tense. Lay your left hand flat and pound the back of your left hand with your own right hand. Your right hand should be in a fist.

You can move your left hand all over your partners back while pounding it with your right hand.

You might be able to feel your partner relaxing underneath your hands.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, approximately 70 million people in the United States are affected by a sleep problem. Americans suffering from chronic sleep disorders number about 40 million, and an additional 20-30 million are affected by intermittent sleep-related problems.

More importantly, studies have found a relationship between the quantity and quality of one’s sleep and many health problems. For example, insufficient sleep may be linked to weight gain, hypertension, cardiovascular problems and the onset of diabetes.

Here is a list of tips for sleeping restfully. These tips are intended for “typical” adults with occasional sleep problems. This list is not for those with medical problems or necessarily for children.

1. Maintain a regular sleep schedule Our bodies have a natural clock and a regular sleep schedule conditions our physiology with a sleep-wake cycle. A regular waking time in the morning strengthens this cycle and can help the onset of sleep at night. It is important to keep a regular bedtime and wake-time, even on the weekends when there is the temptation to sleep-in.

2. Bedtime DOs
Establishing a regular sleep routine will condition your mind and body to switch from activity to sleep. Your routine might include listening to soothing music, reading a book, a warm glass of milk or a warm soak in the tub (it should be done early enough that you are no longer sweating or over-heated). If you’re lactose-intolerant, try an herbal tea with no caffeine. Another easy trick just before retiring is to dim the lights to tell your body it is time to rest.

3. Bedtime DON’TS
Avoid eating a heavy meal before bedtime. You should finish eating at least 2-3 hours before your regular bedtime and avoid spicy foods that may cause heartburn. In addition, many people think alcohol is a sedative, but it actually disrupts sleep, causing nighttime awakenings. Other things to avoid include caffeine (e.g. coffee, tea, soft drinks and chocolate) and cigarettes (nicotine).

4. Your Bed is not a Desk
The only purpose of your bed is for sleeping and sex. DO NOT use it as a workspace for sorting out papers or working on projects. Create a healthy “body” relaxing environment and not a “brain” activity space. Remove work materials, computers and televisions out of your sleep environment.

5. Bedroom Harmony
Your bedroom should be pleasing, clutter-free and reflect the value you have for sleep. Your bed and pillows should be comfortable. Adjust the elements in your sleep environment such as light (dark is best), temperature and noise. If necessary, use blackout curtains, eye shades, ear plugs, air purifiers, humidifiers, fans and other devices.

6. Nurture Your Body
Visiting a holistic therapist each month will help release body tension, quiet the mind and correct any imbalances. The choices are unlimited, like acupuncture, massage, reflexology, chiropractic and more.

7. Exercise regularly
Avoid exercising late at night because it raises your body temperature and makes you more alert. If you exercise at night, complete your workout at least a three hours before bedtime. A great time to exercise is late afternoon.

8. Diet and Supplements Feed your body healthy nutritional food with plenty of fresh green vegetables and fresh fruit. In addition, you can take a high quality supplement (liquid or tablet multi-vitamin) each day.

9. Resolve Mental and Emotional Issues
Unplug from your day and leave the office at the office. If you still have a list of things leftover it is best to write them down with a simple to-do list for the morning. Avoid having arguments unresolved. If you have an issue with something that was said, or are angry, then write your feelings in a journal and do a brain download. Do NOT re-read this journal. If you still have issues in the morning, then speak to that person or speak to a professional.

10. Don’t Watch the Clock
If you can NOT fall asleep, it is best NOT to lie in bed and try to “force” yourself to sleep. Avoid checking the clock repeatedly. According to experts, if you do not fall back asleep within 15-20 minutes, you should get out of bed and go to another room. Try something relaxing such as listening to music or reading.

In conclusion, getting a good night sleep every night is important to recharge your body and mind. The quality of sleep and quantity of sleep is crucial for health, safety and longevity. Pleasant dreams and good night.
